John Fales

For more than 32 years, Jon Fales, a principal in The Alta Group, has worked in the information technology and equipment leasing fields. Prior to joining Alta, Jon held numerous positions around the world with IBM Global Financing, including general manager of Asia Pacific South Global Financing and a member of IBM Credit General Business Customer Financing Group, which focused on marketing leases through indirect dealer channels.
 
Jon's years of experience in international business development have helped Alta clients launch and manage vendor finance programs in Latin America, Europe, China and the US. He has a particular interest in vendor sales training, in which a vendor’s sales representatives are taught how to incorporate financial marketing into their everyday sales activities. Jon also works in benchmarking operations, litigation support and strategic consulting-including market-entry analysis and business case development. His focus in all of his projects is on getting problems solved or opportunities quantified in a way that affects a client's profitability.
 
A recent member of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) board of directors and executive committee, Jon meets regularly with leasing industry and association leaders to provide direction to the ELFA, define the issues affecting lessors and service providers and determine how to best serve ELFA members. Jon frequently presents at global leasing conferences, writes articles for leading industry magazines and is considered an expert in vendor finance.
 

Tony Mynsted

Tony Mynsted is a Principal of The Alta Group. He is responsible for promoting and executing a broad range of consulting products and services for his customers in North America.
 
Prior to joining The Alta Group in 2006, Mynsted worked at IBM for more than 40 years. He sold IBM products and solutions for 28 years, and then helped develop and execute the Business Partner leasing program for IBM Global Financing (IGF) for 12 years. He was the World Wide IGF Client Executive for Avnet, IBM's largest customer, during his last six years at IBM.
 
Tony is an E-Learning Certified Developer and participated in authoring an “IT Market Study” for the Equipment Leasing and Financing Association.
 

Shawn Halladady

Shawn Halladay has repurposed his curriculum, which has long been the standard in leasing industry professional development, for online learning.
Shawn has authored or co-authored eight books on equipment leasing, including A Guide to Equipment Leasing, An Introduction to Leasing and The Handbook of Equipment Leasing.

Cheryl Shapiro

Cheryl Shapiro is a licensed attorney for over 20 years holding legal positions with real estate, manufacturing, distributorships and financial services companies. 
 
With particular emphasis in vendor finance, Cheryl possesses expertise in equipment leasing. She most enjoys helping businesses grow by sharing her legal knowledge and transactional experience with non-lawyers. To that end, Cheryl has developed and conducted a number of documentation training programs for equipment leasing companies.
